Industrial Equipment Manufacturing

Overview

The manufacturer, a leading maker of mezzanines, lifts, safety-guarding products, and material-handling solutions, needed to modernize a quoting process that was slow, manual, and error-prone, often delaying customer responses at the exact moment dealers needed to close. Sigma Solve partnered with the manufacturer to build an AI-driven quoting engine paired with real-time 3D visualization, giving dealers a way to configure, visualize, and quote complex industrial products in minutes instead of days.

Challenge

The manufacturer's catalog, including mezzanines, VRC lifts, and guarding systems, carries enough configuration variables to strain manual quoting, slowing turnaround and inviting error. Dealers had no way to show a customer what they were buying before the order was placed. Pricing moved often across materials and labor, so quotes built on last week's numbers rarely matched this week's costs. And every quote still ended at a hand-drafted CAD drawing, leaving approvals dependent on engineering time rather than customer readiness. Key obstacles included:

  • Complex, multi-variable product configurations slowing quotes and introducing manual error
  • No visual tool for dealers to build trust with customers before purchase
  • Pricing volatility causing inconsistent, outdated quotes
  • Manual CAD drawing production delaying approvals and order conversion

The Solution

Sigma Solve designed and delivered an integrated quoting and visualization platform purpose-built for the manufacturer's dealer network, combining interactive 3D configuration with AI-assisted pricing and Salesforce-native workflows.

Key initiatives included:

  • Interactive 3D Product Models - Built configurable 3D models for mezzanines, VRC lifts, and guarding products so dealers could visualize color, size, and material changes in real time with the customer.
  • AI-Powered Quoting Engine - Integrated an AI quoting tool directly with Salesforce CRM, cutting manual configuration errors and pulling quotes into the existing sales pipeline.
  • Dealer Portal - Delivered secure OTP-based login, quote tracking, and profile management so dealers could self-serve without waiting on internal sales engineering.
  • Admin Dashboard - Gave the manufacturer's internal team a single view to manage dealers, pricing, quotes, and reporting.
  • Real-Time Pricing Sync - Connected the platform to Google Sheets so material and labor cost changes reflected in quotes immediately, eliminating stale pricing.
  • Automated Quote & CAD Generation - Automated PDF/CAD output and email delivery, removing manual drafting from the approval path.

Outcome

The platform gave the manufacturer's dealer network a faster, more visual, and more accurate way to quote, turning a manual bottleneck into a self-service sales tool, while keeping the manufacturer's internal team in control of pricing and reporting through the admin dashboard.
